India Domestic Short Hair Young - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Rochester, New York

India was taken into our rescue on 12/29/17. We could tell she was a very sweet and extremely frightened. For the first few weeks she sleep in our bathroom window and would only come down for food and to use her box. Each time we raised a hand to pet her she would coward but we persisted with petting and talking sweet knowing it was the only way to build her trust and boost her confidence.

Today 3/10 she has confidence, gets along with other cats and is comfortable around my cat friendly dog. She loves to lay by my wood stove. She is playful and runs when she is feeling frisky. If you park yourself on the floor next to where she is laying, you can pet her for a long time. She loves head scratches, belly rubs and the inside of her back legs petted. If you pick her up and put her on the couch, she will get down. I believe her new family would be able to get her past this habit if they worked patiently with her.

4/20 India loves to play chase with other young cats in the house. She will speak loudly for her dinner other wise doesn't make a peep. My husband all her unassuming.

She has begun to snuggle with my cat Leo. She is a sweet girl and deserves a forever family of her own.

While she has grown emotionally her physical issues will not change. At some point in her life she suffered a broken bone in her back leg. It healed long before she came into our rescue. An x-ray was taken and we were advised by the vet not attempt surgery. She gets around fine, climbs stairs and can jump the distance from a chair seat to the floor.

She is a love and deserves a great forever home. If you are interested in meeting her please fill out an application.

Before applying for this cat, please think the decision over thoroughly and make sure the whole family is in agreement. Owning a cat is a huge responsibility that is not something that should be rushed into. Each cat from Rescued Treasures has been saved from an uncertain future. If you are thinking about adopting, please remember it is a LIFE-LONG commitment. Cats can live to be at least 14 years old...are you ready to take care of him/her that long?
